Thanks for your post. We agree that the ability to customize submission forms would be very beneficial for conference managers to collect specific data from authors.
Previously, we also received a similar request from other clients, but with a slightly different perspective. They wanted to customize additional data collection during the payment step, before authors could proceed with submission. Since this feature was widely requested, we have already implemented it in Leconfe version 1.3.1 (minimum).
Currently, this customization is integrated with the payment form. You can create and manage custom fields from the payment menu (see image below):


Once the form setup is completed, the custom fields will also appear at the beginning of the submission process, as shown here:

The reason we integrated custom forms with the payment feature is because, based on many real conference cases, organizers usually require additional questions to appear early in the registration or payment process. In fact, many of them previously relied on external tools such as Google Forms to achieve this flexibility
